Question: Why should I filter bone marrow aspirates before isolating BMMCs?
Answer: Filtering bone marrow aspirates is important to remove bone chips present within the sample. These bone fragments can affect density gradient separation and increase RBC retention.
It is strongly recommended that bone marrow aspirates are passed through a 70um filter before proceeding to BMMC isolation.
