Question: Can I ship slides after the Xenium assay workflow?
Answer: Xenium slides that have been through the assay workflow may be shipped as noted in the Appendix - Sample Shipping section of the following User Guides:
- Xenium In Situ Gene Expression User Guide (CG000582)
- Xenium In Situ Gene Expression with Cell Segmentation Staining User Guide (CG000749)
- Xenium Prime In Situ Gene Expression with optional Cell Segmentation Staining User Guide (CG000760)
After nuclei staining, remove all PBS-T, disassemble the Xenium Cassette, and place no more than two slides in a mailer. Ship using one of two options in an insulated container:
- Ice packs: Fill mailer containing slides to capacity with PBS-T
- Dry ice:
- Dehydrate slides by incubating in 70% ethanol for 2 min at room temperature
- Repeat with 100% ethanol two times
- Fill mailer containing slides to capacity with cryoprotectant (30% glycerol in PBS)
We recommend expedited shipping (overnight or up to 2 days).
Assay performance may be compromised post-shipping and handling. 10x Genomics will not be able to provide replacements for samples that were damaged or lost in transit.
