Question - Why do I get an "upload was interrupted" error while uploading FASTQ files to my project in 10x Genomics Cloud Analysis using the web uploader?
Answer - I sometimes see an error message of "Something went wrong and your upload was interrupted" while using the web-uploader to upload my FASTQ files into the project in cloud analysis.
- First verify your network settings/connectivity - note that upload speeds depend on network speeds and connectivity as set by your institution or internet service provider.
- Verify that your FASTQ files were generated on a compatible Illumina sequencer. Non Illumina FASTQs are not guaranteed to work in cloud analysis.
- Verify the files are not downloaded from the SRA. Certain FASTQ files from the SRA do not contain the flowcell ID information that is required for the files to be correctly recognized by the web-uploader. These files are incompatible with cloud analysis. You may still be able to analyze them by running cellranger separately on a system that meets cellranger requirements, such as a server or compute cluster but they are not compatible with cloud analysis.
