Question: How do I ship Xenium slides with tissue sections?
Answer: Shipping guidance is available for both FFPE tissue sections on Xenium slides and fresh frozen tissue sections on Xenium slides in the "Shipping Guidance" section of the respective Tissue Preparation Guides:
FFPE tissue
If there is a delay between section placement and shipping, the slides can be stored at room temperature in a desiccator:
-
- After sectioning and placement, dry Xenium slides containing FFPE tissue for 3 hours at 42°C
- Store slides at room temperature in a desiccator
- When ready to ship, transfer slides to a slide mailer (2 slides per mailer)
- Place slide mailer in a sealed bag with desiccant
- Ship in an insulated box with cool packs
- Upon arrival, store slides at room temperature in a desiccator until ready for use
We recommend that slides are run through the Xenium assay workflow within 4 weeks after sectioning and placement regardless of when shipping occurs during this time. For shipping slides that have been through the Xenium assay workflow, please see: Can I ship slides after the Xenium assay workflow?
