Question: How do I assemble and disassemble the Visium CytAssist Tissue Slide Cassette?
Answer: The Visium CytAssist Tissue Slide Cassette creates leakproof wells for reagent application and removal directly to the tissue on a plain glass slide. For the Tissue Slide Cassette to perform as expected, it must be assembled correctly, the plain glass slide must have the supported dimensions (25 mm x 75 mm x 1 mm), tissue must be placed within the allowable area, and the tissue or area of interest must be centered within the gasket. Please refer to this article for a list of validated slides. See this Quick Reference Card (QRC) for guidance on tissue slide alignment in the allowable area and on the CytAssist instrument. The Visium CytAssist Tissue Slide Cassette is a single use consumable. If additional Tissue Slide Cassettes are needed, 4 packs are available for purchase.
Instructions for assembly and disassembly of a plain glass slide into the Visium CytAssist Tissue Slide Cassette are included in the QRC linked above and the Tissue Staining Demonstrated Protocols. See below for GIF demonstrations using a plain glass slide with a Visium CytAssist Tissue Slide Cassette, 6.5 mm. Assembly and disassembly of the Visium CytAssist Tissue Slide Cassette, 11 mm will be performed similarly.
