Question: Can I use a 100-cycle Illumina reagent kit to sequence Visium libraries?
Answer: The 100-cycle NextSeq 1000/2000 Reagent kits and NovaSeq 6000 v1.5 Reagent Kits contain an additional 38 cycles of reagents, allowing for a maximum of 138 total cycles. There is sufficient reagents to sequence Visium libraries at our recommended read lengths.
Visium for fresh-frozen requires 138 cycles for sequencing.
Visium for FFPE and Visium CytAssist libraries require 98 cycles for sequencing.
Additional details regarding the cycle numbers in the different Illumina reagent kits can be found on the Illumina website: How many cycles of SBS chemistry are in my kit?
Products: Visium for fresh-frozen, Visium for FFPE, Visium CytAssist for FFPE, Visium CytAssist for FF, Visium CytAssist for FxF, Visium CytAssist Gene and Protein
