Answer: If the internet connection is turned on for the Chromium X Series, it will enable frictionless upgrades via the 10x Genomics Cloud (manual upgrade still available via USB). The X Series also has embedded troubleshooting tools and run logging for improved support capabilities when the diagnostics (automatic log upload) option is on. The instrument can also be temporarily connected to download firmware updates or send logs.
