Question: How well does tissue adhere to Visium Slides with Visium for FFPE compared to other tissue-based assays?
Answer: Visium Slides are different from plain glass slides and do not have the same surface chemistry as a Superfrost/Colorfrost Plus, poly-lysine coated, or similar slides for tissue mounting. Therefore, rates of detachment may be higher with Visium for FFPE than what customers are used to with other tissue-based assays.
In order to maximize the likelihood of tissue adhesion to Visium Slides, we would advise following the sample handling best practices. These best practices are included in our Visium for FFPE Tissue Preparation Guide and are outlined in this Q&A article: What sample handling methods can be implemented to minimize the likelihood of FFPE tissue detachment on Visium Slides?
