Question: What are the largest cell types tested with GEM-X assays?
Answer: We have tested large cell types with Next GEM and GEM-X assays, including adipocytes, splenocytes, and hepatocytes. While these cell types are large on substrate (up to 200 µm), in suspension they tend to become spherical and significantly smaller in diameter (≤ 30 µm). We have not observed issues with emulsion failures when performing either Next GEM or GEM-X assays with these types of samples, however, as with any sample, we strongly recommend utilizing best practices to minimize the potential for sample-related clogs.
