Question: How often do multiple Gel Beads end up in a partition?
Answer: Each partition, or GEM (Gel bead-in-EMulsion) contains a single Gel Bead with a unique 10x Barcode. Occasionally, multiple Gel Beads or no Gel Beads are incorporated into a single GEM.
- The fraction of GEMs with more than one Gel Bead is <5%.
- Less than 16% of GEMs contain no Gel Beads.
These specifications are based on the Single Cell 3' v1 chemistry and are documented in Figure 1c of the Zheng et al. 2017 publication: https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms14049.pdf.
A slight increase in performance is seen for the v2 chemistry.
