Question: How many cells are needed for genomic DNA extraction?
Answer: When extracting High Molecular Weight (HMW) genomic DNA from cells for the Chromium Genome/Exome applications, we recommend starting with a minimum of 100,000 - 1 million cells. This ensures enough gDNA is obtained for QC and loading of the sample onto the Chromium Genome chip.
Please note that 10x Genomics has validated this for mammalian cells only. The minimum number of cells required may vary from species to species.
