Question: What are the optics on the Xenium Analyzer?
Answer: The instrument is fully automated and combines powerful optics, data acquisition and decoding technology to detect analytes at high speed and resolution across the entire imageable area. The imager uses a high numerical aperture and a fast area scan camera with a low read noise sensor to achieve ~200 nm per-pixel resolution. Depth of z-resolution is only limited by the thickness of supported tissue preservation methods (10 um for FF, 5 um for FFPE). The acquired images are processed through the Xenium Analysis software to enable single molecule detection with sub-50 nm localization resolution. Additionally, the instrument integrates sample handling, liquid handling, and wide-field epifluorescence imaging. Analyte detection and image acquisition are performed on the Xenium Analyzer in cycles.
