Question: What is the final DMSO concentration in the post-Xenium Analyzer run waste?
Answer: After a Xenium Analyzer run, DMSO is present in the waste bottle, the remaining buffer in Bottle 4, and remaining volume in Decoding Module Plate B. While the concentration of DMSO does not vary significantly from run to run, the volume depends on whether the run is one of two slides and the size of the region imaged.
The following table can be used to determine approximate volume and concentration of DMSO post-Xenium Analyzer run (2 slides):
Volumes may vary. Measure the final waste volume for exact measurements if needed. All volumes are calculated based on clean-up being initiated right after the run finishes. ‘Keep hydrated’ mode will increase waste volume and decrease DMSO concentration.
Regulations for the proper disposal of DMSO will vary by region. Follow institutional or local guidelines for proper liquid waste disposal in accordance with the governmental safety standards for your region.
