Question: What species are supported for use with Barcode Enabled Antigen Mapping (BEAM)?
Answer: BEAM is currently only supported for mouse and human samples. We have not tested other species.
- For BEAM-Ab, it is theoretically possible to run other species. Custom primers would be needed for V(D)J amplification. General guidance for custom primer design is provided in this article: How can I optimize V(D)J primer design for my non-human/non-mouse species of interest? This has not been tested in-house and is unsupported.
- For BEAM-T, in addition to requiring custom primers for V(D)J amplification, custom MHC monomers would be needed for other species. While it may theoretically be possible for customers to provide their own biotinylated MHC monomers from other species, this is untested and unsupported. The concentration of the biotinylated MHC monomers in the 10x Genomics kits is proprietary.
